Description
Bogus Island today is part of a large prairie restoration project of the Nature Conservancy in Newton County, Indiana. The top of this former outlaw hideout is an observation point for viewing a bison herd that has been brought in to this area of the prairie. The area was once covered by Beaver Lake, at one time the largest lake in Indiana. The lake was drained for farmland in the 1920s.
