About a mile and a half from my home is the lake my hometown is named after (Cedar Lake). Cedar Lake, in Cedar Lake , Indiana, is an 800 acre lake that is very active in the warm months. This is one of two Marinas on the south end of the lake. The lake has quieted down now as people slowly prepare their boats for winter.
In college, I actually started out as a Forestry major before making the switch to Fine Art. Most of my art course work was completed at Sacramento State College in California, with an emphasis in Illustration. I received a BFA from Indiana University in 1977. I worked as a graphic artist for over thirty five years. My art interests have always been eclectic. I like experimenting with different media, exploring ways to add texture, and combining different media. That illustrator part of me always comes back to realism though. My favorite mediums have always been acrylic and collage. In recent years however, I have gone to working in colored pencils (prismacolor and also pastel pencils).
