Late season wildflowers can still be found at the Kankakee Sands, a prairie restoration project of the Nature Conservancy in Northwest Indiana (Newton County). There are thousands of acres of beautiful prairie to explore with wonderful textures.
About Scott Kingery
In college, I actually started out as a Forestry major before making the switch to Fine Art. Most of my art course work was completed at Sacramento State College in California, with an emphasis in Illustration. I received a BFA from Indiana University in 1977. I worked as a graphic artist for over thirty five years. My art interests have always been eclectic. I like experimenting with different media, exploring ways to add texture, and combining different media. That illustrator part of me always comes back to realism though. My favorite mediums have always been acrylic and collage. In recent years however, I have gone to working in colored pencils (prismacolor and also pastel pencils).
