Description
Virginia Rea was an American coloratura soprano popular during the early twentieth century. She began singing on the radio in 1925. From 1927 to 1931, she co-starred with Frank Munn on The Palmolive Hour, but they were billed as Olive Palmer and Paul Oliver. Within two years she had become one of the 10 best-known radio personalities. This image from the Bain News Service archives at the Library of Congress dates between 1920 and 1925. I have colorized it and given it a digital watercolor effect.
